From Publishers Weekly
Fans of cerebral action adventure novels know that, outside of Michael Crichton, no one delivers the goods like the veteran writing team of Preston and Child (Relic; Still Life with Crows; etc.). As if invigorated by their recent solo efforts (Child: Utopia, etc.; Preston: The Codex, etc.), the two now deliver their best novel ever, an extravagant tale of international intrigue. As their admirers know, one reason Preston and Child thrillers work is because most feature arguably the most charismatic detective in contemporary fiction: FBI Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast, a wealthy, refined yet ruthless descendant of Holmes who's very much his own character. Pendergast, as well as other Preston and Child semiregulars, notably rough-hewn former NYPD cop Vincent D'Agosta, Watson to Pendergast's Sherlock, tread nearly every page of this vastly imagined, relentlessly enjoyable thriller. The body of a notorious art critic is found in his Hamptons, L.I., mansion, wholly burned, with a cloven hoofprint nearby: the devil's work? [...] Erudite, swiftly paced, brimming (occasionally overbrimming) with memorable personae and tense set pieces, this is the perfect thriller to stuff into a beach bag.

From School Library Journal
Adult/High School–As FBI Special Agent Pendergast immerses himself in the investigation of an art critic's bizarre murder, he conjures up clues pointing to the Devil as the culprit. After several killings in the same ghastly manner, similar clues are found. Pendergast teams up with Police Officer Vincent D'Agosta, with whom he had worked in The Relic (St. Martin's, 1996), and they begin a lengthy, intense, and time-driven search for the murderer. Along the way, D'Agosta becomes romantically and professionally attached to New York Police Captain Laura Hayward (Reliquary [Tor, 1998]). Their story runs parallel to the investigation and adds another layer of plot. The peculiar nature of Agent Pendergast, who always seems to get out of any kind of dire straits, complements and contrasts with down-to-earth, practical D'Agosta, and they act as catalysts for one another. The action moves from New York City to Italy and places in between. The authors are especially adept at creepy descriptions of eerily spooky castle ruins, crypts, and grave robberies. Readers who like ghost stories, hauntings, and other paranormal activities will find themselves eagerly engaged in this page-turner.–Pam Johnson, Fairfax County Public Library, VA

Da Vinci Code meets Dante's Inferno
By Kasia S.
Brimstone is the fifth fantastic read from the ingenious Preston and Child duo and it doesn't disappoint. I thought that the book was simply fantastic and extremely delectable, and the moment I finished it I felt a deep hunger to pounce on the next, if I had the sixth book in my possession I have no doubt that I would be unable to leave it alone. Meticulously researched, the novel travels from the streets of New York into the lush and romantic Italy, where Pendergast meets with a nemesis so grand, evil and intense that everyone has little doubt about it being the devil himself. I adore that these books have an aura of enigmatic and mystical proportions, anything is possible and everything somehow has an explanation.

The book is quite long but a lot of things happen and the chases, the intrigue and the clues take up a lot of time, making the entire story feel alive and throbbing with anticipation of what happens next. My favorite literary crush, FBI Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast is fabulous as usual, with plenty of tricks up his sleeves ( literally) and with his senses heightened to take on this hard challenge he takes charge at solving another unusual crime while risking his life. When a famous art critic dies under strange circumstances Pendergast doesn't tale long to start connecting small clues, they form into a cluster of horrifying secrets and involved more people who seem to die in similar fashion before anyone can get to them. There's a connection between the strange, rich people and the hellish ways in which they perished, but the closer they agent gets to the truth the more obstacles appear on his way, seems that not only is the devil out to get him but the mortals involved in protecting the secrets are as ruthless and vicious as they come. His research takes him and former NYPD officer Vincent D'Agosta to monasteries, castles and catacombs of ancient Italians, where the secrets are gravely guarded and finding the truth is tougher than anyone could have expected. I adored the last hundred pages, the tale really took a life of it's own and the ending was stunning, I am worried but hopeful, gah..books such as this one really take me somewhere else, and I can't wait to dive back in.

Definitely Holds Your Attention!
By bobbewig
Brimstone is a very fast-paced, suspenseful, enjoyable read, but not as good as Relic, Reliquary and The Cabinet Of Curiousities. Nonetheless, Brimstone which reunites FBI Agent Prendergast and former NYPD cop Vincent D'Agosta will grab your attention within the first few pages and not let go until the very last page. Preston and Childs have developed a unique plot in which Prendergast and D'Agosta are involved in trying to solve some murders that are devilsh in nature, or so it seems. In typical Preston/Child fashion, the authors blend science, technology, the supernatural and history in such a way that the result is a highly readble, suspenseful story. My only criticisms, albeit minor, are that the ending is too open-ended paving the way for the authors' next book), and that Prendergast, while an entertaining, memorable character is (for this reader) stretching the limits of credibility. He makes James Bond seem like an amateur. If you have a long flight or vacation coming up, Brimstone is a book that will provide pure escapism and leave you satisfied.

From Publishers Weekly
In prose that's alternately breezy and pointed, Shulins offers a collection of brief anecdotal essays on plucking out Cupid's slings and arrows and replenishing the spirit of a lifelong marriage. Many of her musings focus on keeping love alive by resuscitating old memories of falling in love. Others concern the little ways that couples ease daily friction, whether through mental exercises (such as imagining what would happen if spouses locked in a frustrating pattern were to reverse roles) or by judiciously doling out a little white lie when one's partner asks, "Do I look paunchy?" Shulins does not dwell on the difficult (she mentions her multiple miscarriages and decision not to adopt children without elaboration), and often edges into gender stereotypes and romantic clich?s in her effort to lightly poke fun at long-term lovers. Readers looking for substantial insights may find her advice trite and inadequate (e.g., she advises holding hands with one's spouse at the movies as a way to spice up a too-familiar sex life, and advises full-time working mothers who still do most of the housework to "get over it"), while those looking for a sweet-tempered celebration of marriage may recoil from apparent flashes of hostility that are sometimes barely concealed in the guise of humor. Still, less sentimental readers may appreciate this down-to-earth look at making a traditional marriage last. (Jan. 9)

A book to remember-always
By A Customer
During the courtship, magic rules the universe. However, the morning after the marriage, reality often nukes the magic disappear. EVERY DAY I LOVE YOU MORE (JUST NOT TODAY) provides a series of essays so that the magic never vanishes, but instead reenergizes as a thriving loving partnership.
A happily ever after non-fiction work seems like a boring sure loser, but Nancy Shulins turns her material into an amusing, intelligent, and educational read that varies from story to story. Each of the essays is relatively small so that the reader can pick up and put down this self-help book as warranted. No essay is boring as they run the relationship gamut with the shared goal of "loving more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow" instead of "where did all the flowes go"?

A Book to Keep and Pass Around
By A Customer
When I came across Nancy Shulins's book, Every Day I Love you More, I was on a retreat from marriage, hiding out for a couple of hours in a bookstore. I'm not a fan of "relationship" books, but something about this one attracted me. (I think it was the subtitle--Just Not Today.)When I sat down to read, I was hooked. Had to buy the book. When I was done, marriage no longer seemed like the worst idea anyone had ever had.
When I read her account of those days "when grotesque crimes of passion actually start to make sense," I was laughing and didn't stop. By the time I got to the part where her husband brings home bubble wrap as a gift, I began to realize that what I had been retreating from was not my partner but my sense of humor.
These essays are not all about the author's marriage. She seems to have corralled all her friends, somehow convincing them to reveal the saddest, happiest, and most absurd moments in their own marriages. I think she must be one of those rare women people love to tell their stories to, then delight to see the spin she has put on them in print. If she produces a sequel, I have a story or two to tell her.
How is this book different from others of its kind? It's way funnier, not at all smug, and far from authoritarian. I think that for her, marriage is something like a vaudeville act made up of flexibility, resilience, and a few pratfalls. As Nancy Shulins puts it, it's "a little song, a litle dance, a litle seltzer in your pants."

It made my great marriage even better!
By A Customer
"Every Day I Love You More (just not today)" is a collection of essays about Nancy Shulins' marriage (and those of her family and friends) that demonstrates lessons in loving one partner for life. Right away, you feel drawn in by the essays, as if you're reading the juicy diary of a friend. You're also aware you're learning something from this friend - a very wise one with secrets to share and advice that is enlightening - but never preachy. You're laughing and nodding your head in mute agreement and wondering if the author has been spying on your own marriage and you're thinking, "Why didn't I think of that?" when Shulins suggests ideas that strike you as profoundly life and marital changing.
Each vignette in this perfectly sized volume highlights a different aspect of married life, from first date to the ultimate, joyful realization that you and your partner will be together for life. I gleaned much from this book: how to call back that "first date" feeling, when to accept that which you cannot change about a partner, how to look for the special, unexpected moments that appear everyday in a marriage and how to deal with the force of incompatibility, happily.
I bought an extra copy of this book for a friend because my husband is now reading "Every Day I Love You More (just not today)". This is the first book my husband and I have ever shared; the book is working its magic already.

About the Author
Christian Jacq, who holds a doctorate in Egyptology, is the author or numerous bestsellers, including "Ramses", which has sold more than eleven million copies. He lives in Switzerland.

From AudioFile
Christian Jacq takes his listeners to a period of turbulence in Egypt and the Levant, mixing time periods, historical figures with fictional characters, and palace intrigue with political infidelity. Stephen Thorne takes this fictional work and applies British accents to the Egyptians and Mediterranean accents to the others. While the flow of simplistic dialogue is unerring and enjoyable to the layman, Jacq's introduction of Ramses, Moses, and Homer in the same time period is disconcerting to students of ancient history. Volume varies from side to side, along with some bleed-through and editing blips, distracting the listener from the plot. The Showdown at Kadesh
By Frank T. Klus
Four divisions of the Egyptian army encamped below the fortress of Kadesh when suddenly the thundering sound of enemy chariots were upon them. The Hittites surprised them and decimated two of the divisions. Then Ramses, possessed of the spirit of Amon, glowed like the sun, and stopped the advancing Hittites in their tracks. Fighter, the Nubian lion, sprang into action. Reinforcements were coming up the coast road. The tide of battle turned. Christian Jacq's Ramses: the Battle of Kadesh, marks the third in a five part series on Ramses the Great of ancient Egypt.
Kadesh was one of the greatest battles of the ancient world. Egypt and Hatti were the two giant superpowers of their day; and both coveted the strategic littoral that we call the Middle East today. Hatti was a warrior nation that sought to extend its empire clear to Egypt. Egypt was a powerful land in the New Kingdom equally bent on extending its influence as far as possible. Kadesh marked the pivotal point in the superpowers' ambitions.
The Hittites gathered information on Egypt's readiness for war with an elaborate spy network that touched the pharaoh's palace itself. With their powerful enemy to their north preparing for war treacherous family members sought to undermine Ramses' power to seize the throne for themselves. Even the life of the queen was threatened. Ramses would have to destroy the spy network and the Hittites or his entire country may be enslaved.
Kadesh would not end the Hittite ambition. Ramses may have slowed them down but not stopped them. Traitors were still in his midst and Asha, the king's boyhood friend and Secretary of State, was in trouble. On to Volume Four.

A good sequel, but the title is misleading.
By A Customer
I found the book very readable having read volumes one and two. However, I did feel more than ever that this volume was turning into some sort of Hollywood screenplay rather that an attempt to portray (albeit under licence) historical events - in fact with the gratuitous sex and violence I think it might work quite well. The trouble is that it didn't really do justice to the battle of Kadesh and instead concentrated on the development of characters which perhaps were rather supplementary to requirements. In fact this emphasis led to quite a few holes in the story line and unbelievable events taking place rather too regularly and this resulted in some disapointment on reaching key parts of the story.
I will buy volumes 4 and 5, but I hope the author has got back on track! Of course the novel has to be readable, and this may mean taking some liberties with history, even history as uncertain as that of ancient eqypt, but the people reading this book will probably be doing so because thay are interested in ancient eqypt and see that it is written by an eqyptologist.
At least I enjoyed the book and it has made me want to find out what actually did happen at Kadesh - shame this book didn't tell me.

Cone granted exclusive and unlimited access to baseballs most respected writerRoger Angell of The New Yorker. The result is just what baseball fans everywhere would expect from Angell: an extraordinary inside account of a superstar.

Amazon.com Review
For the four decades he's been writing about baseball for The New Yorker, Roger Angell has led all shortlists of the game's most astute and elegant chroniclers. With A Pitcher's Story: Innings with David Cone, he attempts, with thrilling command, something he's never tried before--devoting a whole volume to one player by spending an entire season at his heels. In pitcher David Cone, a cerebral student of his game and articulate practitioner of his craft, Angell finds a subject as perfect as the perfecto Cone hurled against the Expos on Yogi Berra Day at Yankee Stadium in 1999. Better still, he finds in Cone a partner unwilling to shrink beneath the hot light of what would prove to be an agonizing and introspective year.

One of the game's premier pitchers, Cone came unglued in 2000; his 4-14 season was a disaster. The "wizardly old master" Angell had intended to extol was suddenly "Merlin falling headlong down the palace stairs." There's gold to be spun from that, though, and Angell, the essayist as deft alchemist, spins away. The more Cone struggles--the more he battles age, doubt, injury, and the various curves baseball fate can throw--to regain what he's lost, the more valiant he seems. It gives A Pitcher's Story its depth, its heart, its spirit, and its honor. If Angell entered into the project with the intention of getting a grip on the delicacies of pitching, he does, but he comes away with so much more. Like good battery mates, Cone and Angell work with, and off of, each other. Together, they evoke a canny portrait of a career at the crossroads, and a meditation on the powers of an elite athlete's pride. --Jeff Silverman

From Publishers Weekly
This is not the book that master baseball chronicler Angell set out to write, the author acknowledges midway through what is essentially a biography of the well-traveled Cone. Angell had planned an "inside look at a wizardly old master at his late last best," but instead found a "Merlin falling headlong down the palace stairs." Neither Cone nor Angell could have foreseen that after the Yankee pitcher gave Angell full access to him during the 2000 baseball season, Cone would have the worst year of his career, finishing with a 4-14 won-lost record. Although Angell's focal point is Cone's last year with the Yankees, he covers all of Cone's life and career, tracking his baseball journey from his days as a star athlete in Kansas City to his stops with the Mets, Blue Jays, Royals and Yankees. Cone had success with each team he played for, including being one of the core players and unofficial team spokesman for the 1996-2000 Yankees with whom Cone won four World Series. Angell (The Summer Game) not only details Cone's highs and lows on and off the playing field, but does a superb job in recording Cone's anxieties and frustrations as the two men move through the disappointing 2000 season. The combination of Angell's love and knowledge of baseball and his truly fascinating subjects makes for another win in Angell's long list of hits about the American pastime. (On-sale: May 2)Forecast: Given the Yankees' recent dominance, this book will attract a lot of fans despite Cone's disappointing last season and his off-seasonn move to the Red Sox. In addition to radio spots in New York and a TV satellite tour to 25 other markets, fans of America's team of the century will call this book a keeper, not only because of Cone but also because of Angell's deservedly high reputation as a sportswriter.

From Library Journal
Cone has won 184 regular season games pitching for the Royals, Mets, Blue Jays, and Yankees, with a perfect game, a Cy Young Award, and other honors over a 16-year career. Angell, author of the classic The Summer Game and other baseball books, blends a diary form account of Cone's sadly frustrating 2000 season with a look back at his earlier years. The New Yorker writer and editor mixes a sympathetic narrative of the pitcher's struggles last summer and his 2001 move to the Yankees' rival Boston Red Sox with a tribute to his rise from young playboy to elder baseball statesman. Angell's graceful prose and baseball savvy should win this a place in most sports collections. Morey Berger, St. Joseph's Hosp. Lib., Tuscon, AZ

A Perfect Pitch
By J. Sweeney
I loved this book. If you are familiar with Roger Angell's baseball essays that appear regularly in the New Yorker, you know his love of the game and the people who play it. This book traces the year of David Cone, a very good pitcher, who just happens to have probably the worst year of his career. To the author and subjects credit, they go on with the project anyway, and it makes for a much different book than the author was planning on. You must pay attention while reading, because the author is often going back to the past of David Cone, shedding light on how he became a successful pitcher, and the ups and downs of his career, and in his life. It is a must read for anyone who enjoys great writing and loves baseball. I personally would love to see an update on what happened to David after he joined the Red Sox, and what he's doing now that he's no longer in baseball. Thanks, Roger!

AN OK BOOK
By A Customer
THIS STORY OF DAVID CONE IS A DECENT READ. I FOUND MYSELF DAY DREAMING DURING SOME OF THIS BOOK FOR IT DIDN'T HOLD MY INTEREST ALL THAT MUCH. MR. CONE HAS OVERCOME A VERY SERIOUS BLOOD CLOT AND A VERY EMBARASSING LAST SEASON WITH THE YANKEES. (ALTHOUGHT HE PITCHED SOLIDLY FOR THE RED SOX LAST YEAR. HE HAS HAD SOME GREAT SEASONS AND IS ONE OF THE BETTER PITCHERS IN THE 80'S AND 90'S. BUT THIS COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER. TOO MUCH TIME WASTED ABOUT HIS LAST SEASON. TOO BAD MR. ANGELL DIDN'T SPEND MORE TIME RELIVING HIS DAYS WITH THE METS AND MORE OF HIS GOOD YEARS WITH THE YANKEES. CONE DESERVES BETTER THAN THIS SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE BOOK.

better than most baseball books
By Randy Keehn
This is a very good book but it ends up just a notch below Angell's other baseball books. I think the reason is that this book is essentially a biography and, thus, it gives the author a more limited scope. If your wish is to read a biography of David Cone, you could not pick a better author to do the job. If you want to enjoy the writing of Roger Angell, you may, at times, feel like David Cone gets in the way.
What an interesting turn of events; a world class baseball essayist picks an all-star caliber NY Yankee pitcher to follow through a season. They both agreed that this would turn into a book after the season. The problem is that this turns out to be the worst season of Cone's career. Lesser participants would have probably dropped the idea in mid-season. However, this book turns out to be more than the recap of a swan song. Angell gives us the beginning and the middle of Cone's career to go along with the end. We see the highlights and not just the low lights. David Cone makes for an interesting subject but the reader often enjoys the sidebar stories more than the Cone stories. The beauty of Angell's writing is how he takes us on journeys through Baseball and the reader is able to see through the author's panoramic view. We may start with the Red Sox and end up with the Padres. In this book we keep coming back to the ups and downs of David Cone. There are times we would have preferred to linger at other places and with other personalities that Angell introduced us to. Still there is plenty here to keep the reader's interest.
One last comment is on the publisher which is Warner Books. I am confused how it came to be that a lesser publisher would handle this project. The book may be well-written but it is of poor quality. My hardbound copy may not withstand another reading as it is already showing signs of coming apart. I recommend getting the paperback version (assuming there is one). I suspect the paperback will last longer than the cloth-bound edition.

Amazon.com Review
Nalo Hopkinson's first novel, Brown Girl in the Ring, was selected from almost 1,000 entries to win Warner Aspect's First Novel Contest, and after publication it received the Locus Award for Best First Novel and was a finalist for the Philip K. Dick Award. So expectations have been pretty high for her second book, and Midnight Robber lives up to them; it's a beautifully written, innovative, demanding, and wonderful novel.

On the Caribbean-colonized planet of Toussaint, Carnival is a Lollapalooza of music and dance, a Mardi Gras, a masquerade; and the Robin Hood of Toussaint legend, the Robber Queen, is just another costume, Tan-Tan's favorite. Then Tan-Tan's corrupt politician father commits a crime that sends them into exile on the extradimensional planet New Half-Way Tree, Toussaint's untamed quantum twin. As she struggles to survive the violent criminals, mysterious aliens, and merciless jungles of New Half-Way Tree, Tan-Tan finds herself taking on--or being taken over by--the mythic persona and powers of the Robber Queen. --Cynthia Ward

From Publishers Weekly
The sounds and rhythms of the Caribbean and Carnival suffuse Hopkinson's second novel (after Brown Girl in the Ring). On the Carib-colonized planet of Toussaint, Antonio Habib, the scheming, philandering mayor of Cockpit County, murders his wife's lover in a rigged duel and must then flee his high-tech planet, taking with him only his young daughter, Tan-Tan. The pair end up on New Half-Way Tree, Toussaint's alternate-universe twin, a primitive and dangerous world inhabited primarily by Toussaint's exiled criminal class and the douen, an alien race reminiscent of creatures from Caribbean folklore. There, Antonio's life lacks purpose, and although he remarries, he gradually degenerates into an angry, sexually predatory drunk. Growing to adulthood, Tan-Tan is deeply scarred by her father's assaults on her. Eventually she kills him in self-defense and, pregnant with his child, flees into the forbidding bush that surrounds their small settlement. Tan-Tan is kept on the run by Antonio's jealous widow, seeking vengeance for her husband's death. Hiding among the trees, Tan-Tan learns the secrets of the douen and gradually transforms into another figure out of Caribbean folklore, the Midnight Robber, who dresses in black, spouts poetry, steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Hopkinson's rich and complex Carib English can be hard to follow at times, but it is nonetheless quite beautiful; her young protagonist, at once violent and vulnerable, is extremely well drawn. Both Toussaint, a world almost awash in nanotechnology, and the more primitive New Half-Way Tree are believable, lushly detailed worlds. Like its predecessor, this novel bears evidence that Hopkinson owns one of the more important and original voices in SF. Agent, Don Maas. (Feb.) FYI: Brown Girl in the Ring won a Locus Award for Best First SF Novel.
Copyright 2000 Reed Business Information, Inc.

From School Library Journal
YA-Hopkinson regales readers with a tale in which West Indian folklore and cadence are combined in a futuristic fantasy set on a planet that borrows from both Haiti and Canada in its geography and cultural history. Sixteen-year-old Tan-Tan, the victim of incest, murders her trespassing father, only to become a permanent runaway from her society on the planet of Toussaint. Her childhood heroine, the Robber Queen, becomes something more personal to Tan-Tan as she fights to survive in New Half-Way Tree, a land of exile and horrifying creatures: Tan-Tan learns to emulate her heroine. In this compelling and literary novel, the author provides fully developed characters of both genders and all ages. Tan-Tan's allies include her old godmother and a male peer who quietly took the implied blame when Tan-Tan became pregnant at 14, although her father was that aborted baby's sire. The beasts of New Half-Way Tree are also fully realized, making Tan-Tan's world seem less like one of a horror story and more one of myth. While the language consistently blends Creole with standard North American English, teen readers will have little trouble following the linguistic nuances. As she did in Brown Girl in the Ring (Warner, 1998), Hopkinson provides an engaging nexus of science fiction and folklore.

Great premise, iffy execution.
By DisneyGirl
Overall, I really liked the premise of this story but I had a few issues with the continuity. For instance, the man who helped the mayor leave his home (trying to avoid spoilers) who said he'd follow soon was never heard from again nor did the characters ever seem to worry about it (which I can rationalize away but would have been a nice detail to add). I also had some serious issues with the way the father-daughter relationship evolved, not just with the events that occurred (which is expected) but with how those around them reacted. For instance, it is kind of insane that the woman followed her to persecute her. I also just couldn't really buy pretty much anything in the ending. I had some high hopes for the story but I was mostly disappointed with how it played out. It was highly recommended though.

This was a great read
By Okra IV
Patois speaking frilled lizard creatures, succulent fruits, deadly plants, a problematic father and a main character with fire in her soul. This book was hard to put down as soon as I cracked it open. The blend of Caribbean folklore and the sci-fi genre was very cool and unique. It also teaches you some patois as you read. If you want to be taken somewhere realistically fantastic, check out this book!

Wonderful book, wonderful language
By Suzette Haden Elgin
I've just finished this book, and I enjoyed it tremendously, even the heartbreaking parts. Even the parts that pose major moral questions for which nobody has any answers. It's a great read, like all books by this author. It's also unusual because although it's written in a dialect (a Creole dialect) the language never gets in the way of the story or distracts the reader. On the contrary; the dialect is an advantage rather than a drawback. I recommend _Midnight Robber_ without reservation.

Be blessed and read this book.

I love this book. I learned a lot about how to be more at peace and to trust in the rock instead of relying on the flimsy flesh. Also I learned to not complain which is unbelief, but rather be thankful and full of God's grace. I now believe God's grace can dwell in me because I put more faith and trust in Him. My life has become more peaceful as I learn to be more like Jesus and allow His grace to dwell in me. I learn more each day as I read and re-read this book. This book is full of wise and profound ideas that can change your life as it did mine. Joyce Meyer is a very smart and wise person who helps many people to learn and grow from the Word of God. Thank you and be blessed by reading this any other books by this author.

If not for the grace of God
By NHimByHim4Him
If you do not know about the grace of God, this book will change your life! Understanding and receiving the free gift of Grace(power and ability) enables us to continue on in the area where most of us would give up.
Very timly because my husband is now in Hospice care with major COPD and I hold fast to the Grace of God to go through each day.
It is amazing how the teachimg in this book leads to the point that we can not make it without Him.
Five of us women are doing this study at our church. There is an 80 year old woman that came in the first week and said, the first paragraph blew her mind. I am so amazed at no matter how old we get that God is never finished leading, teaching and guiding us into His wonderful provision,
If you are struggling and things seem impossible, this is a must read book.

My 4 year-old daughter is rid of all FMS symptoms!
By Sabrina
First off, don't let these book companies charge you an arm and a leg for a new book. I purchased the ebook and began reading that night! I had already read "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia" (2nd edition, 2006) and was compelled to visit Dr. St. Amand, and do the protocol, and I am now recovering from symptoms every month, and living again. I began November 2011 (6 months ago). I could go on and on about that.. but this is about my daughter. Two months into my recovery, I was thinking about my daughter, Olivia. At four years old, could she have Fibromyalgia? Can I start treating her using the same protocol? I did some research and came across a video on YouTube.com ... searched for "Pediatric Fibromyalgia" It was submitted by Diana C. Wolf.
Thank you Diana, for this video, it touched so close to home. My daughter didn't complain of pain, in so many words, but she did whine and cry a lot, and was very irritable. She also got a lot of respiratory infections (colds), and had been getting strange rashes on her body, and little tiny blister-like pimples around her nose and mouth. She had trouble falling, or staying asleep, was miserable in the mornings, and was inattentive. Many children have been misdiagnosed with having Attention Deficit Disorder, when in fact, ADD can be a symptom of Fibromyalgia. I know, because that was my latest symptom before I began the protocol, and was my first symptom to disappear after only 2 months into my recovery. We use the term FibroFog. Our short term memory is shot. We walk into a room and forget why we're there (50-60 times a day!), if something interrupts our sentence, we forget the whole topic of conversation. Forget about school! There's no way these kids can focus when they have this symptom. Listen to a teacher talk? Are you kidding? I recall my teachers growing up had always written on my report cards that I was a day-dreamer. Oh yes, I had this as a child too - I am learning. But it can be subtle! Often only a Fibromyalgic parent will even suspect this in their child, and usually not until they learn more about their own illness, and how genetics play such a huge role. It is my understanding that children who have a first line relative with Fibromyalgia / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome increase their odds of getting Fibromyalgia by 8.5 times! I have been in contact with hundreds of people with FMS, and most of them have at least one or two children with the same illness. But these people and their children are on the Guaifenesin Protocol, which you will learn about from Dr. St. Amand, and they are getting better. I have also learned from Dr. Melissa Congdon, that she and Dr. St. Amand know that 100% of Fibromyalgia patients end up with Osteoarthritis, if left untreated (unreversed). The ONLY way to reverse Fibromyalgia today, is with the Guaifenesin protocol. Olivia is free and clear of symptoms because of this protocol outlined in this book. I highly recommend this book if you have a child whom you are suspicious of having FMS. If you already know, I recommend the latest edition of the main book, released in May 2012 with the red stripe on top. "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia". It may take adults months or years to completely reverse their Fibromyalgia, but it works when the protocol is followed, and many see results within only weeks. Children, the younger they are, the faster they reverse. My daughter was a different child after 2 weeks on the protocol, and void of all symptoms after 6 weeks. She used to be "a challenge" to say the least. She is now such a happy little girl. Thriving in school and sports, and full of boundless energy! She is almost 4 and a half now, and she says her arms and legs don't feel squished anymore."

This treatment is completely safe for children, and the medication can be purchased over the counter. There is no patent on Guaifenesin. Anyone can make it, therefore it is cheap. There is no money to be made from this protocol. There is no funding for a study to prove this works in a double-blind study. Investors would never receive a return on their investment. Drug companies are pushing their latest and anti-depressants and narcotics to our doctors, when in fact all they do is make us worse. Dr. St. Amand is a very humble man. At 85 years old, having FMS himself, as do his 3 children and one grandchild, it is no wonder what drives him to perfect this treatment protocol. He continues to treat patients and help fund research to prove what he has already proven in his patients over the past decade or more. Be aware, you cannot go out and buy Guaifenesin anywhere. It must be pure, virgin, dye-free, long-acting Guaifenesin with no decongestants or other medications added. Resources are at Fibromyalgiatreatment.com Please come to our Facebook page and learn more about Fibromyalgia in Kids, and about Olivia's before & after. search at Facebook for "Fibromyalgia in Kids" ... Take care of you and yours, Sabrina

Excellent book
By A. D. Roberts
This book will give you the basics of what fibromyalgia is and how you can reverse the symptoms in your child with the "guaifenesin protocol", created by Dr. St Amand. If done properly, this protocol has an astonishing 90% success rate! I also found Claudia's book in the "1st year" series very helpful and am ordering WYDMNTYA fibromyalgia fatigue. This doctor is way ahead of his time and I am thrilled to be feeling better and have the opportunity to help my daughter feel better too!
